A Getaway.....

A day spent frolicking in the beach(a almost-private one at that) and pool as you guzzle down glasses n glasses of beer ~~ Now doesnt that seem like the perfect way to spend the weekend! And thts exactly what we did this weekend @Windflower in Pondi This must be one of the first vacations where we did zero sight-seeing(a quickie to Auroville doesnt count) n most importantly zero shopping(!!!!)!

But again as a colleague commented, to do jus this did u hv to drive all the way to pondi ~~ Couldnt u hv done jus the same at any of the resorts that dot Bangalore! Hmm yeap possibly ~~ But then a beach resort has a charm of its own n jus the very act of getting away from the 'Daily Living' can spruce up your entire system ~~ or as hubbs says "It is the journey that I cherish, more than the destination"!

Yea! I know there isnt anything "Pondi" abt these pics... But then as I said we hardly budged out from the hotel and the Beach :-D. BTW this trip was courtesy a gift voucher for a performance award that ma sis bagged from her work place.. How I wish ma comp would adopt such a policy to reward the best performance! Then sachi, I will pull my socks in no time :)

Gone are the days when people respected life

Dusk To Dawn Music Festival...

Yeaaa u read tht rt! N its happening rt here in B'lore...

Excerpts from their site.....

The Fireflies Festival of Music 2011 will begin on 19th February at 7pm and go on till 7am.

The stage, as always, is set under a banyan tree in an open air amphitheatre, adjacent to a lake and away from the sodium trail of the city. Here, through music we celebrate the relationship of oneness between man and earth. This forms the bedrock of the festival ethos. It is also a celebration of the pluralism of India.


The festival, from dusk to dawn, is a cultural experience where on offer is sounds of various genres. Taking care to juxtapose the indigenous with the international, the established with the unheard of, and jazz with tribal folk.




Sounds yum huh? Even a no-ear-for-music sad soul like me is excited about this... Thou I hv a linking its more for the experience than the music! Dono if I will make it there... Thou I hope I do :)

PS - 1: The tickets for this event  are supposedly all sold out! So jus drop in an hour earlier n try ur luck with the tickets being sold at the site!!

PS - 2: Somebody outta there is setting out today on what I hope is the first of many trips of her life. A trip tht marks the new begining shes made... A trip tht  where I hope she appreciates n is appreciated... A trip which makes up for all the lost quota of fun in her life... Amen to that!!

An Engaging Affair - IV

Now now no snickering...... This is ma space... So if u think its silly plzz shoo off from here!

Yeah ladies-n-gentleman ... so it was 4 years since we got bethroned...... N surprise surprise (no no its no surprise tht hubbs springed on me)... this time there was NO CELEBRATION ... Hmpf! Part of settling down?? I dono... I Hope not.... N funnily enuf the absence of 'Gift excahnge - Eating Out' didnt make it seem as if anything was amiss(Man! Didnt I tell ya growing is boring... No No No No!!!)

Ha ha but did I tell ya that at times so many things fall in place that a day like this continues to remain special! End of day saw me loaded with gifts(No no - the credit aint for hubbs; Its to ma dearest frnds) ~~ from A new pair of jeans to wine to cake to jewellery box  to new top to to a artificial-plant(cause well somebody believes I cant for life of me grow a plant... Now isnt tht supposed to be a insult) .....All the things in list except the jeans is thnx to  ma dearest sabs who came back from her vacation loaded with all these goodies for me :-D

So thts the gifting part taken care! Dinner u said?? Tossing up aloo parthas as clock ticks midnight watching a mindless crime thriller(Grrr Mr. Hubbs).... Does tht by any stretch of imagination count as "Romantic" :-D

N how could I not mention this ~~ YoooHooooo!!! I went to the first bloggers meet ~~ courtesy IndiBlog n came back with more goodies! But more abt it later!!!

Ha don I love the way the things fall in place over the weekend as if jus so that I make ma entry in the weekend wrapup :-D

Yet ANother Weekend!

Ha looks like this space is v soon becoming a 'weekend-only-posts' space... didnt I tell ya addiction is a bad thing :-D

Ha this weekend saw me n hubbs driving down to chennai... well not a fun trip ... Ma father-in-law wasnt well (or rather isnt) n so the visit! Now truly speaking I had butterflies in ma stomach ...Cause I was as-usual dreading the much favoured 'Good-News' topic! But ha I grant it to them... Not once was the topic bought up..... I sooo much respect them for giving us this space(Now will somebody teach ma mom this :-D)

Well Now I was abt to write the relationship I share with them... But well the words arent just coming out n my eyyes are almost drooping... SO I'll suffice to say that - Touchwood! Am Lucky :)

The one thing that I love the most at home there is the collection of figurines from across the world - from Africa to Thailand to China to Japan to Kerala to Andhra........now if I were to try n put up the entire collection here welll I wouldnt do justice at alll!! So for now I will let u drool over the impressive collections at home straight from Africa!

N I know they read this space... So here its straight from horse mouth~~ Probably the first time am accepting it so publicly..... Yea, I so much await the good news as each of you are :) (Thou I still donno if am awaiting it for ma self or for all of u?)... So plzzz wish me luck!

N ofcours ethe reason for the hurried post ... ha the same addiction I spoke of in LiNe 1 :)

Another weekend passes by....

So there comes to end another weekend........last few weekends seem to be falling under a completely different bracket! While the weekends till last year would start as early as friday afternoon......googling to find the next dest'n around B'lore to be explore, a 2nd show and hitting the road on saturday! A constant fix on our bed-side table during those days were 'Times Good Food Guide', '52 Weekend get-aways from Bangalore" :). So much so that the weekends would be more straining than the weekdays......while my friends at work would be fresh n full of energy (if not excited) on monday morn I would be ready to hit the bed!! My energy then had a different curve low on monday and slowly raising till it hits the peak on a friday...he he he!! N not to mention the liberal dose of vacations tht were thrown in once in 2-3 months!! Actually we would hv been the perfect ambasadors for 'Alto'..."Next is what"(which incidentally is wht we own) n the perfect reviewers for Good Food Guide', '52 Weekend get-aways from Bangalore" :)
But surprisingly the last few weekends were different.......caught up on a 2nd show last week after ages!!! Its more about catching upon some movie on TV over a glass of wine(n a whisky\beer for my hubbs) and of course spring cleaning the house....U C we hv no maid now (Yeah guys u heard it right....me doing the household cleaning, sweeping all by myself...of course due credit given to my hubbs!!!) n the outing is limited to say a visit to shop to stock up groceries or at the max a visit to Brigade road!!! Yeap its relaxing in a way n am 'ready~ to~ go' on mondays!! N talking of 'Times Good Food Guide', '52 Weekend get-aways from Bangalore"...well gotta hunt for those books!

So whats happening? We getting matured n settling down or is it the wallet!! I hope not!! Me craving for one of those relaxing vacations where its just both of us far away from here.........
