Engaging Affairs....

... are no more engaging! So much so that it was almost when I entered office that I remembered its the D-Day! You can hop onto the link here to know what all the hulla-bulloo is abt or well I can jus tell u tht it was this day a good 6 years back tht we got engaged :-D

Sigh! Now I hv definitely grown up n hv more pressing things crowding my mind. How I miss those carefree days of yore(Ho! How stupid n immature we were then!)

In other news, I finished devouring the much awaited book on my reading list - "Ancient Promises" by Jaisree Misra. A semi-autobiographical take on authors own life, the book lived up to its promise. Her best till date I should add. Definitely a good read. May I should do at least this 2 line kinda book reviews in this space for sake of keeping the record!

An Engaging Affair - IV

Now now no snickering...... This is ma space... So if u think its silly plzz shoo off from here!

Yeah ladies-n-gentleman ... so it was 4 years since we got bethroned...... N surprise surprise (no no its no surprise tht hubbs springed on me)... this time there was NO CELEBRATION ... Hmpf! Part of settling down?? I dono... I Hope not.... N funnily enuf the absence of 'Gift excahnge - Eating Out' didnt make it seem as if anything was amiss(Man! Didnt I tell ya growing is boring... No No No No!!!)

Ha ha but did I tell ya that at times so many things fall in place that a day like this continues to remain special! End of day saw me loaded with gifts(No no - the credit aint for hubbs; Its to ma dearest frnds) ~~ from A new pair of jeans to wine to cake to jewellery box  to new top to to a artificial-plant(cause well somebody believes I cant for life of me grow a plant... Now isnt tht supposed to be a insult) .....All the things in list except the jeans is thnx to  ma dearest sabs who came back from her vacation loaded with all these goodies for me :-D

So thts the gifting part taken care! Dinner u said?? Tossing up aloo parthas as clock ticks midnight watching a mindless crime thriller(Grrr Mr. Hubbs).... Does tht by any stretch of imagination count as "Romantic" :-D

N how could I not mention this ~~ YoooHooooo!!! I went to the first bloggers meet ~~ courtesy IndiBlog n came back with more goodies! But more abt it later!!!

Ha don I love the way the things fall in place over the weekend as if jus so that I make ma entry in the weekend wrapup :-D

An Engaging Affair -II

Its the time of the year!! The title should ideally read An Engaging Affair -III considering tht today(Jan 7) I complete 3 years of betrothal to the hubbs dearest :).

So whats up today?? Well first thing am gonna do is hit the bed(yeah yeah am sitting n blogging at 12:15 in the night) n tommo post a big day at office will catch up for dinner(of course)! Yeap yeap the place is selected as usual post due diligence (translating to first 30 mins of my time in office...Now now lets hope not all read this :-p )! So watch out this space for a yummy yummy review.

N wish us many many happy returns of the day!!

This day also sadly marks the anniversary of Satyam Fiasco.....Well am no more a Satyamite but am still proud that I was one!! N as Raju toils in the jail for all his (mis)deeds for me the picture that still comes in mind is one of a founder of a company which was my saviour in many ways n to which I still owe a huge part of what I am today!! Thank You Satyam.

An Engaging Affair....

I and my hubbs...ok ok lemme take the complete credit here ...are a sucker for celebrations!!! At the drop a hat I need a gift n a party....well our almost empty bank accounts speaks for itself!!

Hmmm so the latest excuse for a party was the 2nd anniv of our engagement...hee hee hee!!! As you'll agree this occasion befits a candle-lit dinner n a gift to make my day! Now the candle lit dinner is the easy part - after all my hubbs is partner-in-crime as far as eating out is concerned! But the 'gifting' part is where the twist comes........ buying or rather remembering to buy gifts just doesnt fit into my hubb's scheme of things!! So a week in advance he should be cajoled and reminded and given more than subtle hints to ensure tht I get my gift!!

Ha even before u start empathizing on the amount of work I gotta do, lemme tell you its just the start!! The entire day is spent in researching the 'chosen place' for dinner..... no mean task considering it should be done under the glaring eyes of my boss...Thank You Microsoft for the 'Alt' + 'Tab'! (For the computer illiterates, this shortcut is used to shift between windows)

After a thorough study the 'chosen one' for the night out was hotel 'Umerkot' .........'Umerkot' take a bow for this privilege :-p. N ho yeah yeah after the dinner I take a bow for a work well done.....Umerkot lives up to its name (This place deserves a post in itself...so all u foodies out there watch out this space!).

The only hiccup at Umerkot was that they had no provision for candle lit dinner....Not that I had noticed it...U C I was so engrossed with the food :-p. N then comes my fav dessert time......N this time a a 'Candle Lit' dessert!!!!!! N before u go bwondering what it is....lemme enlighten u!! Our desserts "Angoori Kufli" n "Rabdi" came with a candle in between!!! For a sec I thot the steward was acting funny........he had this goofy smile when I had ordered them n now he brings it along with a candle!!!! (BTW the service there is impeccable...always at your service but never intruding into your privacy.)

Ha only later did I know the real story! Ma ever resourceful hubbs had made up for the 'candle lit' dinner with a 'Candle Lit' dessert!! howwzzaaatttt?? N to imagine that he had arranged for all this beforehand including the dessert selection of "Angoori Kufli" n "Rabdi"....It was just a co-incidence that my picks were same.....n this also explains the goofy smile the steward had!! What makes this extra special is the fact that my hubbs is not this mushy mushy kinds n to imagine that he took the effort to arrange all this means a lot to me :)

N now coming to the other significant event of the day - the gifts!! Phew after all the hungama......I didnt pick up any for my hubbs :(. I swear I had made a sincere effort there but nothing matched my expectations :) My hubbs did better than that...He gifted me with these cute butterfly earings ...of course he missed all the subtle hints on the gift that I was expecting!!! Ha but no worries Valetines day isnt far away!! But the best of them all was this collage Sabi (No prizes for guessing who she is) had gifted......... Nice one hey!!!

PS: I did get my hubbs a turtle neck T-shirt a full week later. N another twist is tht the Satyam fiasco happened on this very day......all in all I am sure you all agree tht the 'Engagement Day' was indeed an engaging affair!!!!!
