Women in my Life......

I know the pic is cheesy, but ain't this pic so representative of women! Each of us different ~~ physically, emotionally, mentally - but each a beauty, each brings a diff color to our life n together they are the strength that holds together many lives, many families :-).

Here is wishing all women I know(even the tweeny-weeny ones too) ~~ In real life to virtually(yea u!) ~~ a happy women's day! Many a smiles, many a tears, many a gossip thts been shared over the years- months. Each of you have been a inspiration, a strength to me ~~ Thank you for being there!

Today also happens to be the day I enter the tenth year of my career... A career that thou ain't exactly going "great guns" am pretty happy with! Will this day be the beacon of all other good times in my life... Only time will tell!

@Hampi

We winded up last year with a quick getaway to Hampi. The place has a "earthy" charm to it..... leaves u in awe at how time bought down one of the richest kingdoms in India to its current ruins!

Hv a look at this pic... one of the many entrances to the queens summer palace! Imagine the city's grandeur when it was in its full glory! For once the rain gods were kind to us.... provided jus the cloudy shade we needed to cover the seemingly never-ending monuments!

The place we stayed at Hampi was on the other side of river tungabadhra -  which seems more like a foreigners colony - away from the hustle n bustle of main Hampi Town. The only flip-side being tht last ferry that will take u across is at 6 in eve!

But what I took away the most from the hols are the hordes of foreigners who are on 6-12 months of holiday with the only item in their agenda being - see the world(India in this case!). Pure Bliss rt! Couldnt help feeling J for those 20 somethings.....

Most importantly this was a trip that healed....... All the walking, the beauty of earthiness, getting away from routine, good food n jus meeting people!

Tales of Absistence.....

Must be this abstinence for close to a month now, that the word "Beverages" pops up the images of Beer, Wine in ma mind :).

The reason for the abstinence, is the fast hubbs is on for his up-coming sabrimala visit. Now knowing him, his concurrence to go on a religious sojourn without kicking up a hue and cry, is a surprise in itself :). The bigger surprise is that he has been able to stay away from meat, booze n smoke(strictly in order of his indulgence) without showing any obvious withdrawal symptoms. Way to go ma boy!

Funnily enuf, the person who is showing the worst withdrawal symptoms - for lack of any kinda "entertainment"(use ur imagination) -  is been errr... yours truly :-O. Added to it is the fact that ma sis is busy entertaining her set of in-laws n Sabs is gone on a self-imposed social out-casting mode! Truly boring times I say :-/. The only relief is been my kindle :)

Yummy(licious)!

Typical accompaniments with our morn cup of tea is 2 Marie n one choco cream bisc! Now ma hubbs who cant otherwise be trusted to do the grocery shopping without a list in hand, does a enviable job of ensuring that they are stocked up!

It so happened that this sat night, he opens the fridge only to realize that his stock of choco cream bisc is run out while the marie bisc is almost overflowing. So  cooking-in-my-genes enthu-cookie of hubbs who is already high on his regular dose of  Food porn(:-D I think I luv this word) thanks to Masterchef Australia~~ pre-heats the oven, stuffs his fav Lindt Dark choc(yuks) in between two marie biscuits, Microwaves it for couple of mins n lo-n-behold look what you hv!

Tastes best when frozen!

PS-1: How I wish he replaced that dark choc with something more edible :-D

PS-2: I know there is no word like Yummy(liciouc) - but am allowed to coin new words ... lol!

MileStone Alert!

Well am almost a month late in ringing in the 'good news'(:-P) The hubbs finished his project 365 ~~ Indeed a 'Milstone' am glad he achieved! Heres a pic he clicked. N the reason for this particular pick is cause this is what is on top of my mind now-a-days... A lotta childhood memories!


Now back to our milestone, whats with hubbs that he will make me rue abt everything I prod him into! Take this photography hobby for instance ~~ he got into this post some 'not-so-gentle' pushes from yours truly but soon took to it like a 'fish-to-water'. But haaa ~~ jus as ma smirk was getting obvious, he goes a step ahead n devotes all his free-time into 'shoot-process-upload' routine day-in n day-out! N if he is left with any xtra time its devoted to 'Upskilling' these 'Shooting' skills so much so that one day I caught him sneaking in his camera manual into the loo~~ sob sob sob!

Did you observe a common theme running thru these pics... Atleast one out of three seems to be on poverty or old people! I wonder why? ??

Not jus in photos, the dominant theme in books, paintings are more often than not on 'Melanchoy'... Wonder why? Why this preference to romance the sadder aspects of life.... Is it what we as readers, onlookers lap up or is it jus the "I'm Not OK, You're OK" syndrome!

Value of Life

Gone are the days when people respected life

Now all they do is live on the edge of a knife
