A Jungle Safari To Remember.......

There was no way we could let our blogs just sit and rot, while we blamed everyone but ourselves for not writing. Deciding to put an end to the hiatus on writing, me and Ishithaa have decided to write on every day of November on alternate days. Today if the post is on my page, tomorrow it will be on hers.....   

This happened a good year ago on a wild life safari in the jungles of Bandipur. The vehicle we had booked in, happened to be one of those closed jeeps. The seat we were allotted was right behind an obviously newly-married couple - didn't need much guessing what with her dressing and the way they were all over each other! Errrr we have done our share of PDA - but a jungle safari van was indeed a novelty!

As the safari was about to begin, I reminded them the fact that some lesser mortals were behind them not to take up the lion's share of the window space. Very reluctantly, they let us use a teeny-weeny window space through which Pravs could barely fit in his camera!

As the safari started, my ever-sharp ears picked up some gentle growls which were growing in intensity with time. A very excited us started looking around wide-eyed.... but alas! Our bubble burst soon when we realized that those gentle growls were emanating from our "honeymoon" couple who chose that moment to go away into snoozeland! Of course, who could blame them - sleeping in the lap of the jungle should be an experience in itself right!

The Bday Dhamaka!

Haaa am announcing it a wee bit late... But I happened to celebrate my 3 decades on earth a good days back(Don even get me started on how old I feel.. A post on it later).

Now what was spl abt this bday was the day in itself..... I don hv my bday date on FB. So that meant almost no-action on the 'Social Media' but what that does translate to is that the people who took the effort to remember the day are the ones who mean something to me (another way of saying that my real close ones can well be counted on the fingers... doesnt sound impressive huh). Bottles of Champagne n beer, Yummy cake, 'Communal-cooking'(Loads of cooking), Pot luck is what the day was~~ Nothing fancy abt them  but the keyword of the day I guess was "Warm"!

Jus before u think that I hv turned all wise n philosophical as I turn 30, Lemme break the bubble n admit that a part of me was still looking for the 'birthday Gift(s)' (Time I grew up huh :-D). Looking back, I guess it was one b'day where each gift I received was picked up so thoughtfully(Not jus-yet-another-random-gift). Lemme proudly announce what all I was bestowed with on the D-Day:

• Goggles with power lens(courtesy hubbs) - My constant grouse abt wearing specs is that I cant sport a goggles over it which made me 'V.Uncool' (you can roll ur eyes) n so this gift! Now before u can pat ma hubbs, I got this(good 2 day later) post clear-instructrions given a month back to him (So much for being Mr.Thotful!)
• Ma ever thotful sis roams around in the hot harsh sun trying to get me the 'Perfect Gift'(and getting horribly tanned in the process) and 'Perfect Gift' she did find! A swanky new mobile ~~ My old one was almost in pieces you see!
• The 'Tongue-In-cheek' BIL(Soon-to-be) gets me a big huge ripe Jack fruit(yea u read it rt) cause thts ma fav fruit! But the sweetest SIL taht I am, I made him cut it open and remove it slice-by-slice :-D(If u eva cut a jack fruit, you will know what am talking of!)
• The eva-resourceful sabs picks up this beauty of a dress for me in 'Happy Colors' jus cause thts so me :)

Now lemme admit, all these peop mentioned above would hv anyways been(:-P) in the 'Default Gifting List',  but the one that was really a pleasant surp was a 'kindle' that a frnd sent me all the way from abroad jus cause he knows I enjoy reading(Speak of Thotful peop!)

N ho yea there are few more peop who figure in the 'default Gifting' list but hvnt shown up yet.. But yea don yea worry, Am open to 'B'day gifts' for a few more days :-D

2011 - A review!!

When 2011 came ringing in, I had recorded my wish list here... Today almost at the fag end of the year lets see where it stands!

For starters I hv hardly achieved any in the list.... But well its 2011 and well the number "4" has to bring something in its wake(read up the post to know why)....

So Indeed as I said, 2011 thou dint see me doing a "tick" on any of the items in my wish-list what it instead did was set the machine for the wish list in action... Be it ma sis marriage or ma good news! Now if u ask me thts like more than 60% job done.

N jus so that its indeed recorded ~~ 2011 is the year that saw the item that topped my wish-list for four years come true(no qs plz) and now thts saying something rt :) Of course the xtra time I I got to spend with ma mom-sis was the unexpected bonanza!

Heres hoping that 2012 sees us taking all these things into their logical- happy ending ~~ Fingers crossed! As I type this, I realize that its a BIG ask and me hopes that things jus fall in place.

Ma little niece all of 5 yrs tells ma mom tht she gotta relocate to kerala - N why not blore asks the poor unsuspecting me!!! The brat quips "Ammama.... This one will wake up at 9 in morn n come over to kitchen with Paper in hand N say - 2 teas please"!!! Man! She is all of 5 n visits me like what - 2-3 weeks in a year!!!!!! Sheesh! These Kids I say are gonna be ma bane!

N well when I talk of smart one-liners can ma hubbs be far off!!

There's Giving someone space......

There's Giving someone space and then there's giVing them so much space they end up thinking u dont care....

A line so v true in each of our lives isnt it... Well I for one know its true in mine... Mr.Hubbs U listening :) How many of us in an attempt to not to breath-down have ended up doing the latter? Or possibly the problem is with our own definitions of what classifies under 'Care' N 'Dont-Care'.... A tricky question in itself!

Now Now b4 u start applauding ma words of wisdom... Lemme be ma modest self(Yea Rt!) and give credit where its due........ This line is a lift from ma most recent read .... 'The HornBeam Tree' by Susam lewis.... Now this one is no booker prize winner or a great literary read! But well it does justice to ma fav topic ~~ 'People N Relationships' ~~ So much like the original owner of this book :-D
